My 3 year old bathroom vanity light finally gave up last night
Went to flip the switch and just heard a pop and then nothing. Pulled it down this morning and found the wiring inside had completely corroded at the connection point. Guess the humidity in that bathroom finally did it in. I'm thinking about switching to a LED fixture this time around but not sure if the cheaper ones hold up. Anybody swapped out a vanity light recently and found a brand that lasted more than a couple years?

Three years is actually not bad for a bathroom fixture with that kind of corrosion. Moisture gets in there and just eats the connections alive. LED fixtures are way better for that because they run cooler and don't pull as much current. Less heat means less condensation inside the housing. Just make sure whatever you buy has a good gasket or seal around the glass, that's what keeps the humidity out.
