Just realized I wasted 2 years painting cabinets the slow way, one door at a time
So back when I redid our kitchen in 2022, I pulled every single cabinet door off, laid them out on sawhorses in the garage, and hand painted them one by one. It took me almost 3 weekends and my back was killing me from leaning over. This past weekend I did our bathroom vanity and I finally tried spraying with a $40 HVLP gun from Harbor Freight and it was done in like 2 hours. I used to think spraying was too messy and fussy, but with a big cardboard box behind it the cleanup was honestly nothing. The finish also looks way smoother than my old brush marks, which I never could get rid of no matter how thin I made the paint. Now I am sitting here mad at past me for all that wasted time on the kitchen. Has anyone else switched from brush to spray and never looked back, or am I just late to the party?
