That $60 book binding kit from Etsy was a total ripoff

I dropped $60 on this pre-made bookbinding kit from a shop called CraftyBindings on Etsy, figured it would have everything I needed for my first rebind. Opened it up and the glue was half dried out, the needle was bent, and the thread snapped on my second stitch. Had to run to Michaels and spend another $20 on real supplies just to finish the job. Anyone else get burned by one of these fancy kits that look great in photos but fall apart when you actually try to use them?

Hold up, are we sure that shop is actually called CraftyBindings? I looked them up and didn't see anything with that exact name, so it might be a different store front altogether. Either way, you're totally right that these kits are a gamble, nothing beats just grabbing a bone folder and some PVA from Michaels yourself lol.

Is it really that deep though? Like people are out here acting like this is some kind of scam or uncovering a conspiracy. Maybe the shop just has a weird name or they forgot to update their socials or something. I mean sure it's annoying if the kit isn't what you expected but it's a binding kit not a life savings. A bone folder and some glue from Michaels costs like ten bucks and you can pick it up in person so I don't get why everyone's so worked up over some random online store. Feels like people just want something to be mad about honestly.
