Spent $36 on a bone folder and a utility knife for my first book rebind, not a single straight cut yet.

Watched three tutorials beforehand, cut my hand twice, and the pages are somehow both loose and crooked at the same time has anyone else found a better way to trim the cloth edges without eyeing it?

Oh, you're not alone there. My first few attempts at cloth trimming were an absolute disaster, I ended up with more frayed edges than straight ones. Have you tried using a clear acrylic ruler with grip dots? That helped me a ton for keeping my knife from wandering.

Sounded like I was trimming a hedge, not fabric lol.
