Warning: the hostel router in Medellin taught me to stop trusting hotel wifi for client calls
I was three weeks into a two month stay at a place in El Poblado when my Tuesday client call dropped four times in ten minutes. The owner let me plug straight into the router (he kept it in a broom closet by the front desk, no joke) and the call went perfectly after that. Now I carry a little travel router and ask one question before booking anywhere: can I get a wired port? Anyone else got a check they run before they commit to a spot for a month?
