Vent: My laptop charger fried in a Chiang Mai cafe and I almost lost a week of work

I was finishing a big client project when the power flickered and my screen went black, forcing me to spend $120 and two frantic hours finding a new charger before my deadline. Has anyone else had a close call with power issues in Thailand?

That power flicker is a real gut punch when you're on a deadline. Did the cafe staff even act like it was a normal thing, or were they just as surprised? Makes me wonder if you should carry a little surge protector in your bag now.

Forget surge protectors, just accept that power here is part of the deal. @grant.margaret is overthinking it, you got your work done.
