That $40 noise-canceling headphone adapter saved my sanity in a Bali coworking space
I dropped $40 on a USB-C to 3.5mm jack adapter with active noise cancellation after a rooster crowed through three client calls, and now I can actually focus on writing code without hearing the local rooster army - has anyone else found a random gadget that made remote life way easier?

Wait, does that adapter work with any laptop, or just phones? I might need one for my own sanity.

So that $40 adapter with the separate DAC chip, does it actually filter out background noise from the laptop's own fan or just stuff coming through the mic? I keep seeing these claims but nobody ever tests it with a cheap Windows laptop that sounds like a jet engine. If it can handle that stupid fan whine, I might finally be able to work in my living room without wanting to throw my computer out the window.

I feel you on the rooster army, that's a HARD pass on trying to code through that racket. I read somewhere that those USB-C adapters use a separate DAC chip, which is why they can actually filter out background noise way better than the cheap ones. Honestly, $40 to not lose your mind in a loud coworking space is a steal.
