Serious question, has anyone else had their Airbnb host cancel 2 days before arrival in Medellin?

I was all set for a month in Colombia, then my host just messaged 'sorry, family emergency' and blocked me, leaving me scrambling to find a new place with my first client call in 12 hours.

Stopped reading when you said they blocked you. That's sketchy as hell. @john648 called it, they almost definitely relisted that place for triple the price for a holiday or event you didn't know about. I'd check their calendar on a different account if you can, I bet you find your exact dates available again for way more.

Check the listing again right now. Did they suddenly raise the price for your dates? I've seen hosts pull this move to get out of a long, cheap booking so they can charge triple for a holiday weekend.
