Just overheard a guy in a Bali cafe say he 'works' 3 hours a week
I was coding next to him at a co-working space in Ubud and he was bragging about his $6k monthly passive income from a print-on-demand store he set up 2 years ago. Made me wonder, how many of you actually found a real passive income stream or is that just a myth we chase?

That "3 hours a week" thing always sounds too good to be true... most people don't talk about the months or years of grinding before it actually pays off. I've seen a handful of folks make it work with print-on-demand or digital products, but it usually takes consistent effort upfront and some luck to get that passive income to stick. Real passive income is more like delayed income you earn by putting in the work first, not a free lunch.

Exactly, it's the same pattern with all those "get rich quick" side hustle videos on YouTube. Everyone wants to show off the final result after months of grinding, not the part where they're up at 2am fixing a broken product description or dealing with a customer complaint. It reminds me of how people only post vacation photos, not the boring hours stuck in traffic or the airport delays. The real work is always the stuff nobody wants to film or talk about, which is why these "easy passive income" stories feel so detached from daily life. If it was really that easy, everyone would be doing it and nobody would be working regular jobs anymore.
