Hot take: I hated planning my day around calls, then Lisbon showed me another way
In my experience, I was sure video calls at set times were the only way to stay on track with my team. Last quarter, I was in Lisbon and the time difference made those morning syncs a real pain. My boss suggested we try just sharing written updates in a shared doc each evening instead. I thought it would lead to more confusion, but honestly, it gave me more focused hours to get my accounting tasks done. Seeing how much quieter my days became without back-to-back meetings totally changed my mind. Now, I check in once a day and it feels way more sustainable. Take this with a grain of salt, but for nomads, loosening up on live chats might save your sanity.

Have you considered doing this with client updates too?

Oh man, my buddy tried sending his clients a weekly video update instead of emails. He said it totally changed the game. People actually watched them and felt way more in the loop. He got way fewer panicked calls asking for basic updates. I mean, it just feels more personal, you know? He swears by it now.

Absolute game changer for keeping folks in the loop.
