Got yelled at in a Bali co-working space for taking a phone call

I was at a shared desk in this popular co-working spot in Ubud last month, taking a quick 3-minute call with a client about a logo revision. Some guy from two tables over walks up and tells me to take it outside, even though there was no quiet zone sign anywhere near us. Turns out I'd been sitting in their "silent area" that apparently everyone knew about except me. Has anyone else run into unspoken rules at co-working spaces that almost got you kicked out?

My mate sat in the "social zone" and got shushed for breathing too loud.

Lol, I actually used to work at that exact coworking space in Ubud for a month last year. But here's the thing - they do have little signs on the walls near the silent area, they're just really tiny and easy to miss. There's one by the water station and another near the plants by the window. Not saying it's your fault at all, most places make those zones super obvious with big signs or different colored lights. I got told off once for typing too loud on my mechanical keyboard in that same area, so I feel your pain. The staff are usually nice about it if you ask, they'll just point you to a different desk.
