Got stuck in a Chiang Mai monsoon and found the best backup power setup
My laptop died during a 3 hour storm in Chiang Mai last month, and the coworking space's generator kicked in but my cheap power bank did nothing. A guy next to me let me use his 100W foldable solar panel and now I always carry one, has anyone tested these on cloudy days?

Tested mine through three days of rain in Pai and it still pulled maybe 5 to 10 watts, just enough to keep my phone alive. The trick is angling it toward whatever bright patch of sky you can find and wiping the panels dry every so often, since water beads up and kills the output. Cloudy days won't charge a laptop fast, but they'll slowly top up a power bank if you're patient. Pair it with a decent 20,000mAh bank and you're fine through most storms.
