Co-working space in Bangkok saved my focus way more than I expected

I always thought co-working spaces were overpriced hype, but after 3 weeks of trying to work from cafes in Chiang Mai I was getting nothing done. I dropped $150 on a month pass at Punspace and finished a full project in 4 days. Anyone else find that spending a little money on a desk actually pays off in productivity?

Oh I read somewhere that the act of paying for something actually tricks your brain into taking it more seriously. So maybe the $150 is what made you focus, not the desk itself.

I mean, 150 bucks for a desk feels like a lot for something you could just get at a library for free though. idk, I guess if you're really strapped for focus maybe it helps, but I'm not convinced paying money is the real reason you got stuff done. More likely it was just being in a new place with a deadline breathing down your neck, you know? I've seen people drop cash on fancy co-working and still end up scrolling Instagram half the day. Maybe it's just me, but I think people overthink this stuff.
