Unpopular opinion: That Instagram artist with 100k followers traced my whole piece
I found a popular digital artist on Instagram who had basically traced one of my original character designs from a year ago. When I called them out in the comments on their post from last Tuesday, they just said 'inspired by' and blocked me. Has anyone else had their work ripped off like this without credit?

Read a thing online about an artist who made a whole series about their art being stolen. Had screenshots of the original and the copy side by side. The traced version had even kept the same shadow placement. Your story sounds just like that. Blocking instead of talking says they know they did wrong.

Ngl, I kinda see where the artist is coming from though. People get "inspired" by stuff all the time without meaning to rip it off, and maybe they just didn't want to deal with a public fight in the comments. Honestly, getting blocked sucks but doesn't automatically mean they traced your work on purpose.
