Remember when we had to save every project on a floppy disk?

I was cleaning out my old desk and found a box of them from around 2003. I tried to open a piece I made for a class project, but the disk was corrupted and the file was just gone. That whole piece, maybe 20 hours of work on a really old version of Paint Shop Pro, just vanished. It made me think about how easy we have it now with cloud saves and automatic backups. Has anyone else lost a big piece of work from the early days because of bad tech?
