Paid $80 for a brush pack and immediately regretted it

I saw this ad for a digital art brush set that promised to make my paintings look like oils and watercolors. Pulled the trigger on it last Tuesday, figured $80 was worth the upgrade for my showcase pieces. Opened the pack and realized half the brushes were just slightly different blobs that barely changed texture. I could have gotten the same effect by tweaking default settings for free. Anyone else been burned by overhyped brush bundles that didn’t deliver?

Oh man, that stings. It's like when you buy that fancy kitchen gadget everyone's raving about, get it home, and realize you could've just used a regular knife and a cutting board. The whole "exclusive pro brush" thing feels a lot like those "premium" filters and presets that just slap a basic color grade on your photo. I've fallen for it too, bought a watercolor set that was basically just a bunch of circles with different opacity settings. You end up with more clutter than actual help.

Right? I read somewhere that those "pro" brushes are literally just the same brushes with a different name and a higher price tag. @angelacooper your kitchen gadget comparison is perfect, it's the same trick. It makes me think of those "vintage" font packs that are just free Google Fonts with a little squiggle added. You pay for the hype, not for an actual upgrade, and then you feel dumb for falling for it. Have you ever tried to return one of those digital sets?
