My tablet pen calibration went haywire during a live demo yesterday

I was showing my process to a group at the local library in Austin, about 15 people watching the projector. Mid-brushstroke the cursor jumped to the corner and started drawing lines from nowhere, totally ruining the piece. I had to stop, reset the Wacom driver, and restart the program, which took maybe 5 minutes. Has anyone else had their pen lose tracking during a presentation and how did you handle the awkward pause?

Five minutes is barely a blip, is the crowd really that impatient? Seems like a good chance to show how you handle real world tech hiccups.
