My ArtStation portfolio hit 10k views and I don't get it
I threw some sketches up on ArtStation back in March, mostly concept doodles for a D&D campaign I'm running. Last week I checked and somehow I'm at 10,372 views with 180 likes. It's weird because I spent way more time on a fully rendered piece for DeviantArt that got maybe 40 views. Has anyone else noticed their stuff just randomly takes off on one platform but bombs on another with no obvious reason?

10k views is actually pretty solid for a few D&D sketches! Just a heads up, ArtStation's algorithm tends to push concept art and sketches way harder than polished pieces because that's what art directors search for there. So that's probably why your doodles took off on that platform.

Robert's got a point about ArtStation. It's a weird platform, rough sketches get way more traction than finished pieces there. Makes sense for D&D stuff though since that's what people want to see.
