I finally stopped putting every single piece of art on a white background
Used to think all my digital paintings needed that clean white gallery look to feel "professional." Then I uploaded a piece with a warm gray backdrop by accident last month and someone commented it made the colors pop way better. Now I rotate between 3 or 4 different neutral tones depending on the piece. Anyone else have a default setting they swore by until they accidentally broke it?

Warm grays bring out contrast better than pure white most of the time.

Warm gray is a game changer for digital pieces with lots of cool tones in them. I stick with a very pale beige now for anything with warm colors and it just works.
