Hit 500 followers on my art account last night, totally unexpected

I've been posting digital paintings for about 8 months and was stuck at 150 for ages, then one piece about a stormy beach just took off. Has anyone else had a random post blow up way past your usual stuff?

Actually the algorithm might be punishing you for consistency. I had a similar thing happen where my usual style got stuck but a random experimental piece blew up. The stormy beach piece probably hit because it tapped into a mood that people were feeling at the time. What was the weather like that week where you are?
