Found a hidden layer in an old PSD file from 3 years ago...

I was digging through my external drive last night and stumbled on a Photoshop file from a freelance gig in Austin back in 2021. There was a layer group called "final final v3" that had a completely different color palette - way better than what I shipped. Do you all ever find old work and wonder if you made the right call on a design direction?

Did you end up swapping the colors after finding it or just leave the old file alone?

Ngl, I've got a folder called "better_ideas_late" that is basically a graveyard of stuff like this. What I started doing is keeping a changelog right in the PSD metadata or a sidecar text file. That way, when I open it three years later, I can see exactly why I made the call at the time. Usually it was a dumb deadline or a client who wanted something totally different. But if the new palette still holds up and you have a spare afternoon, mock it out fresh on the current file, see if it actually works in context. Worst case, you kill an hour and confirm your old choice was fine.
