Can we talk about the artist who asked me to delete my timelapse video right at a gallery opening in Chicago?
They said it 'ruined the mystique' of their piece, but I think process shots help people appreciate the work more, so where do you draw the line between sharing vs. protecting the magic?

My friend had an artist literally chase her across a gallery to make her delete an Instagram story she posted of their work in progress, said it “cheapened the finished piece” or something like that. Kinda rubbed me the wrong way honestly, like let people enjoy the work however they want.

@bettym89 that story is wild, chasing someone across a gallery is just too much. I get wanting control over your work but if you post something publicly it's fair game. A timelapse or a BTS shot is just a snippet, not a spoiler. The mystique thing feels like gatekeeping honestly. Let people see the process if they want to.
