Realized how much diagnostics changed when I found my old Snap-on scanner from 2008

I was cleaning out my toolbox last weekend and found my old Snap-on Modis from way back. That thing was a tank back then, but now it just sits there lol. Last month I was working on a 2023 Freightliner with a DEF issue and my new Autel tablet found the problem in 10 minutes. Three years ago I would have spent an hour chasing wires with a multimeter. The old Modis could barely read half the modules on that truck. Anyone else hold onto old scanners for nostalgia or just me?

Honestly, I still got a worn out old Craftsman socket set from '06 that I refuse to let go of.

You read that article too about how old Craftsman tools are actually better than the new ones? I remember seeing that comparison test between vintage and modern sockets. It makes sense why you wouldn't let them go. The older ones had thicker walls and tended to hold up longer, even if they looked beat up. I think there is a reason people still hunt for those sets at garage sales. You are basically holding onto something that works better than what you can buy new. It is a good call to keep them around, @alice991.
