My buddy's fuel pump clock got me thinking about part reuse

I've seen more diesel mechanics turning old parts into garage gear lately. It saves cash and adds a neat touch to the work area. What kind of repurposing have you tried with leftover pieces?

Seeing that fuel pump clock reminded me of my buddy Carl. He made a lamp out of a rusty turbocharger for his garage. It gives off this AWESOME industrial vibe and saves him buying a new one.

Actually, @felixa18, that turbo lamp idea has me wondering about the wiring. Old car parts aren't exactly built for household current, and rusty metal might not be the best insulator. Carl's probably got it sorted, but I've seen enough garage fires to be cautious. The industrial vibe is cool until it becomes a literal hot rod. Still, gotta admire the creativity, even if it's a bit of a safety gamble.
