Hot take after visiting that big diesel shop in Dallas last month

I know everyone swears by CAT filters for longevity but the guys at Thompson Truck Repairs showed me their fleet logs using Wix for 6 years with zero issues. Am I missing something or is the CAT hype just brand loyalty?

Skip the brand debates and just look at those fleet logs, six years of Wix with zero issues pretty much speaks for itself. Heck, if CAT filters were really that magical, every shop in Texas would be running them and Thompson's would be out of business by now. At the end of the day, your oil change habit matters more than the sticker on the box, so let the brand loyalists keep paying extra for the name.

Oh man, I've been down this exact road before. Wix is honestly solid for most fleets unless you're running extreme conditions like constant heavy dust or extreme heat. The real trick is just sticking with one quality brand and changing them on schedule, that matters way more than the name on the box.
