Honestly, I just realized my 2015 Duramax started idling smoother after I switched to a different fuel filter brand last month.

Ngl, there's also the possibility that the new filter brand has a slightly different micron rating or flow rate. Some aftermarket filters are actually tighter than OEM specs, which can mess with the fuel pressure regulator on those LML engines. A buddy of mine put a supposedly 'premium' filter on his 2015 and it actually started surging at low RPM until he swapped back. Honestly, it might be less about the brand name and more about whether the filter element itself is designed to match the Duramax's specific pressure curve. Worth checking the part number against a genuine AC Delco to see if they match.

Wait, are you sure it's the filter brand making the difference? I've found that a smoother idle after a filter change usually just means the old one was clogged up. Any fresh filter would probably do the same thing.

Yeah, you're probably right about that.
