Grill talk with a heavy equipment guy changed my torque game
Was bullshitting with a CAT mechanic named Joe over at the TA in Birmingham last Tuesday and he told me he never uses a click-style torque wrench on injectors, always beam style. Said the internal springs on click wrenches drift after 50 cycles. Has anyone else noticed their click wrench getting sloppy after a few jobs?

Yeah, have you ever had a click wrench just... not feel right all of a sudden? I hear you on that. I've been through three of them on my own rig over the years, and I swear the last one started slipping after maybe 20 uses on some tight lugnuts. It's a real pain when you're trying to get a bolt to spec and you're just guessing if it's right. Joe from CAT probably knows his stuff, beam wrenches don't have much to go wrong inside. I've been thinking about switching myself, just for the peace of mind.
