Can we talk about how often people forget to prime fuel filters on the big rigs?

I swear I see it at least once a month at the shop in Tulsa. Some guy slaps a new filter on a Cummins ISX, fires it up, and then wonders why it's cranking forever and throwing air in the system. Takes 30 seconds to fill it with diesel from a clean jug. Why do people skip this?

Did you read that article on Truckers News about how skipping that step costs fleets thousands in downtime?

It was Fleet Owner, not Truckers News. The study had it at about $12,000 a year if you're missing that inspection step regularly. I just skimmed it, but the numbers checked out.
