Am I the only one who thinks stop leak is a band aid that makes the next guy's job way worse?
Three months ago I had a 2016 Ram 2500 come in with a heater core that was half plugged, and the owner admitted he dumped two bottles of stop leak in it last winter because a guy on YouTube told him it was cheaper than a flush. I back flushed that thing for two hours and still had to pull the dash, and the sludge had worked its way into the water pump too. Everyone says stop leak is fine for a quick fix, but I've seen it cost people four times what a proper repair would have run. What do you guys tell customers who already put that stuff in before they bring it to you?
