I finally picked an old Tivoli radio over a modern Bluetooth speaker

Honestly, I had to choose between fixing my dad's 2002 Tivoli Model One with a blown volume knob or dropping $60 on a new portable speaker from Target. The Tivoli had this warm sound my dad swore by, but it was sitting in a box for two years because no local shop would touch it. I went with the Tivoli because I found a guy on eBay in Cleveland selling the exact replacement potentiometer for $14 plus shipping. Took me an afternoon with a soldering iron I barely knew how to use, and ngl, I shorted a wire twice before getting it right. Now it sits on my workbench and picks up AM stations clearer than my car does, which is nuts for a 22 year old unit. The FM stereo light even works again, and my dad about cried when I showed him. Has anyone else revived an old radio or amp instead of going digital, and did the sound actually beat what you expected? Maybe it's just nostalgia, but I'm curious if the old tuner tech holds up for anyone else.
