Watching a demolition crew take down the old food court at the Sunrise Galleria in Tucson made me finally get why these places die.
They weren't just knocking down walls, they were erasing the exact spot where hundreds of people used to meet up every weekend before the anchor stores left and killed the foot traffic.

Erasing the exact spot" is what really gets you.

Disagree with you there, @wendy_murphy16. I find going over the whole area again works better than just one spot. Otherwise you end up with a shiny patch that looks different from the rest of the wall. The texture and sheen never match if you only fix the exact mistake.

My brother tried that spot fix method on his living room and it looked like a weird sunbeam was always hitting one patch of wall. Hayes, when you say go over the whole area, do you mean like the entire wall from corner to corner, or just a big section around the mistake? I'm trying to picture how big an area you need to blend so it doesn't show.
