The mall I grew up in had 2,400 parking spots, now it's a solar farm

I was looking through old city council minutes from 2019 (weird hobby, I know) and found the demolition permit for the Ridgemont Mall in Tulsa. That place had 2,400 parking spots, which I remember because my dad used to joke you could land a 747 on the roof of the Sears wing. Turns out the county assessed the land at $1.2 million as a mall, but the solar company bought it for $4.7 million after the roof collapsed in 2018. The wild part is the council minutes showed the mall was still profitable in 2015, just barely, but the owner wanted out so they jacked up rents 40 percent and blamed online shopping. Has anyone else dug into the actual paperwork for a dead mall and found the owners basically killed it on purpose?
