Summit Center's rot proves it's not just about buying stuff online

I snuck into the old Summit Center mall last weekend and the damage inside was SHOCKING. Folks blame websites for killing malls, but this place had leaks and crumbling walls way before that became a trend. Do you think we give mall owners too much slack for letting buildings fall apart?

Seen this happen at other spots too, who else has been inside a dead mall lately? My town's old plaza had the same issues, roof caved in years before the stores even left. Owners definitely get away with letting things rot.

Mall owners aren't just letting things rot for no reason (you know, like they have bills to pay too). Fixing big problems like leaks or crumbling walls costs a fortune, and with stores leaving, the money isn't there. Online shopping made it worse, but even before that, keeping a giant mall in good shape was a huge job. Sometimes, putting money into a dying building just doesn't make sense (like trying to save a sinking ship). They might be waiting to tear it down and build something better, which takes time. Blaming owners misses the bigger picture of how shopping has changed.

Anyone else's apartment look like a mall food court after the leak no one fixed? I can't judge, my place has the same slow rot going on.
