Isn't it just a dead mall because people shop online now and the rent is too high? We take pics of the vibe because it's weird and quiet... but digging for deeper meaning feels like making a school project out of something pretty simple. Sometimes a dead mall is just a dead mall.

Stop digging for meaning. William's right, online shopping and high rent kill malls, but landlords' greed makes it worse. I've seen malls sit empty for years because owners won't lower prices. They hope for a miracle tenant instead of filling spaces with local shops. Without that willingness to change, the mall dies a slow death. It's not deep, it's just bad business.
