Just found out the old Northgate Mall in Cincinnati had a full size indoor ice rink until 1990
I was digging through some old city planning documents online for a project and saw a line item for rink maintenance costs. I had no idea. The place closed for good in 2009, but that rink was gone almost twenty years before. It makes sense why the floor plan always looked so weird in the middle. I guess they filled it in with more stores later. Has anyone else found a mall that had a feature like that, something totally gone before the main closure?

The Eastland Mall here had a two story waterfall and koi pond until the late 90s. I found old photos while looking up something else, and it explained that weird empty atrium space. It's wild how these places just erase their coolest features.
