I finally had to choose between the food court and the arcade at Raleigh Springs Mall
Last month I snuck into the old Raleigh Springs Mall in Memphis to grab some photos, and I had maybe 20 minutes before security would swing back around. I had to pick: get pictures of the abandoned Chick-fil-A with the 1980s signage still up, or the arcade that still had a few machines left like that beat-up Street Fighter II cabinet. I went with the arcade because the light was better, but the Chick-fil-A sign was way more intact - kinda regret not grabbing that shot first. Anyone else run into a tough split-second choice like that when exploring a dead mall?

Honestly it's just a mall, not like you were choosing which kid to save from a fire.

My buddy Jake used to work security at Westfield and had to break up three fights in one shift over parking spots during Black Friday. People act like stepping foot into a mall during holiday season is some kind of sacred right, not just a sweaty trip to the food court. Honestly, nobody's gonna remember which sweater you grabbed off the rack in five years anyway.
