Can we talk about how I spent 3 weekends looking for the food court in a dead mall in Ohio?
Honestly, I drove out to the old Rolling Acres Mall in Akron three separate times trying to find the food court because my map from 1998 showed it on the upper level, but the whole second floor was boarded up after the 2008 closure. Tbh I walked the entire perimeter twice and even climbed through a broken service door near the Sears entrance, only to realize the food court had been torn out years ago and replaced with a call center. Ngl it was so dumb because a guy in the parking lot watching me finally pointed at a faded sign that said the lower level was all that was left. Took me about 14 hours total over 3 weekends just to figure out I was looking in the wrong place the whole time. Has anyone else gotten totally turned around by old mall maps that don't match what's actually still standing?
