Vent: spent 4 hours trying to get a Windows 98 driver onto a CF card using only a Vista laptop last Saturday
I picked up a $15 CF card reader at a Goodwill in Sacramento to move a driver file onto my old ThinkPad 600E, thinking it would take maybe 10 minutes. Turns out Vista refused to format the card to FAT16, so I ended up burning a CD-R, booting a Puppy Linux live disc I found in a binder, and copying it over the slow way. Does anyone keep a separate XP machine around just for this kind of thing, or am I the only one still fighting with this?
