Vent: my 2004 iPod Mini battery swap went sideways and now it only holds a charge for 20 minutes
I got a replacement battery off eBay for $12 and followed a video from a guy in Ohio, but when I popped the plastic end cap off with a tiny flathead, the click wheel ribbon cable tore at the corner. I taped it back with kapton tape and the thing powers on, but now it dies after about 20 minutes of play and the screen flickers when I skip tracks. Honestly I think I cracked the board trying to wedge the old battery out with too much force. Should I just buy a whole dead unit for parts on eBay, or is there a repair shop around Austin that still touches these things?
