TIL my $75 'refurbished' iPod Classic from a flea market in San Antonio was a $12 lesson in testing before buying
Saw a guy selling a 160GB iPod Classic at the flea market off Bandera Road about 6 months ago and he swore the battery held a charge for days. I handed over $75 without even asking to see the screen turn on, which was dumb. Got home, plugged it in, and it booted straight into a sad face icon that never went away. Opened it up later and found a bulging battery held in with electrical tape. Anyone else get burned by the 'trust me, it works' guy at a swap meet?
