Shoutout to the $2 graphite pencil that got my 2008 Dell laptop keyboard working again
My old Inspiron 1525 had like 6 keys that quit responding and I figured the membrane was shot so it was trash. Then a guy at a repair shop in Akron told me to pull the key caps and rub a pencil eraser across the contact pads, and if that fails, draw on them lightly with graphite. Did it last Saturday, let it sit 10 minutes, and all 6 keys came back to life. Has anyone else kept a machine running this cheap, or am I just lucky?
