PSA: I used the wrong side of my mousepad for 3 years and only found out at a LAN party in Denver
So back in 2021 I bought this big cloth mousepad with a cool design on it and I just used it art side up the whole time. My cursor always felt kinda scratchy and jumpy in games but I figured that was just how cloth pads were. Fast forward to last month at a LAN party in Denver, my buddy picks up my pad to move it and goes 'dude why is the rubber side up?' I flipped it over and the difference was insane, my aim felt smooth for the first time ever. Turns out I had been dragging my mouse across the grippy bottom for 3 years straight and just thought I was bad at FPS games. I sat there in front of like 6 people while everyone laughed and honestly I deserved it. My K/D went up noticeably that same night which was both great and super embarrassing. Now I check every pad I buy and I'm paranoid about it. Has anyone else ever used a gadget totally backwards for years without noticing?
