My uncle's CRT monitor advice from 2003 still holds up today
Back in 2003, my uncle told me to never set a CRT monitor above 85Hz refresh rate because it would wear out the tube faster. I ignored him and cranked my ViewSonic to 100Hz for gaming. Within 8 months, the image started getting blurry at the corners. I fixed it by dropping back to 85Hz and it ran fine for another 4 years until I upgraded. Anyone else have older relatives give monitor or TV tips that turned out to be accurate?
