My flip phone experiment backfired at the county fair last Saturday

Took my old 2009 Motorola Razr to the fair to prove a point about being present, but I spent way more time trying to type messages with T9 and missed the pie eating contest entirely. Everyone around me was snapping photos and I could barely send a text without looking like a grandma. Do you guys actually find these old phones usable for real events, or is it just nostalgia that keeps you carrying them?
