I finally saw why people hoard old ThinkPad keyboards
Typed on my 2015 MacBook for 5 years then grabbed a beat-up T420 at a garage sale for $20. The difference in key travel and that satisfying clack made me realize modern thin laptops traded feel for looks - anyone else switch back to an old keyboard for daily typing?

$20 for a T420 is such a steal that I almost feel guilty about the 2015 MacBook tax you paid before this enlightenment.

Funny how we chased thinner and lighter until we lost what actually made things feel good to use, right? Seems like every industry does this - makes things sleek and minimalist until they become annoying to interact with daily. Old ThinkPad keyboards remind me of how tools used to be built for the hand first and the eye second.
