I finally fixed my old iBook after 8 years of ignoring it

My 2004 iBook G4 has been sitting in a drawer with a dead screen since I spilled tea on it in college. Last week I found a replacement screen on eBay for $32 and decided to try because the machine's rubber feet were crumbling faster than my patience. Turns out the connector cable was the issue, not the screen, so now I have a spare. Has anyone else put off fixing a laptop for years and found out the repair was way simpler than you thought?

crumbly rubber feet" ha, that got me. Same thing happened with my old ThinkPad, sat in a closet for years over a weird charging issue, turned out it was just a loose brick in the adapter. Feels SO good to finally get old tech working again.
