I dug my blue iPod Mini out of a drawer in my parents' garage in Toledo last week, and the thing powered on and played 6 hours straight on the original battery. Now I see two camps on this: one says old gadgets were built tougher and we should fix them instead of replacing them, while the other says nostalgia tricks us and one lucky battery does not mean the hardware lasts. Where do you all land on this, is keeping old gear alive actually smart or just stubborn?
