Dad's shed had a box of 8 track tapes and my $15 flea market player ate three of them
I grabbed an old 8 track deck at a flea market in Tulsa for $15 thinking it would be a fun way to play the tapes from my dad's shed, but the rubber wheel inside had turned to goo and chewed up three of his tapes before I noticed. I lost a Beatles tape and two homemade recordings of my grandma singing, and the repair guy quoted me $90 just to look at it. Has anyone here had any luck bringing one of these back to life, or should I just hang the tapes on a wall and call it done?
