Can we talk about keeping a 2008 flip phone alive as a daily driver in 2025?
So I've been running my old Motorola Razr V3 as my main phone for the past 2 months, ever since my smartphone screen cracked on a Tuesday morning in Austin and I just never bothered to fix it. I pay $30 a month for a talk and text plan and honestly the battery lasts 4 days on one charge, which is wild compared to my old brick that died by 3pm every day. Here's my problem though, half the people I know think I'm doing some kind of weird flex or being annoying on purpose, and the other half keep asking me for tech help because they think I'm some kind of expert now. The truth is I just like flipping it open when I get a text, it feels satisfying, and I don't doomscroll anymore which saved me probably 2 hours a day. But then I miss group chats, I can't send photos without it looking like a potato, and my friend got mad at me last Friday because I didn't see her invite to a thing until the next morning. So I keep going back and forth on whether this is a real choice or just me being stubborn about something dumb. Do you all think keeping old tech as your actual daily driver is worth the tradeoffs, or is it more of a weekend nostalgia thing for you?
