Bought a 1990s IBM Model M keyboard for $25 at a thrift store and it puts my $100 mechanical to shame
The thing weighs like 10 pounds and clacks like a typewriter, but my typing speed jumped from 60 wpm to 75 wpm after a week. Why do new boards feel so mushy and plastic-y compared to something built 30 years ago? Anyone else rocking an old keeb and finding it way more solid?

75 wpm to 75 wpm after a week? Thats wild man. Ive heard buckling spring switches are no joke but gaining 15 wpm just from switching keyboards is nuts. Makes you wonder what we're actually paying for with these new boards.

Yeah the "what are we actually paying for" question hits hard. I've been through this exact thing where I blamed my keyboard for months and it turned out I just needed to clean my desk and stop hovering my fingers over the keys. Maybe try focusing on not bottoming out the switches as hard, that alone can save you some time.
